Salar Aghili, the prominent vocalist among the young generation of Iranian traditional music

Salar Aghili is known as a vocalist who is passing on the values of traditional Persian music from masters such as Shajarian to the next generation of music lovers all around the world.    

 

Salar Aghili was born in Tehran, Iran in 1977. In 1994, he entered music school and started to learn the Persian traditional singing (Avaaz) as well as playing various musical instruments such as Santur, Tar, Setar, Tombak and piano. He chose singing as the way of expressing his feelings through the richness of Persian poetry.

 

In learning the art of Avaaz he made use of  the great Masters Mohammad Reza Shajaryan and Seddigh Tarif´s experiences .

 

He founded RAZ O NIAZ, a traditional music ensemble in 1998 and has since performed many concerts inside Iran and abroad. These concerts have taken him to places such as Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands (RASA festival), Hafez Commemoration in Austria, Molana Commemoration in Strassbourg & Theatre de la Ville of Paris, Spain, Norway, Canada & U.S.A.

 

He had performances with different traditional Iranian music groups such as Tehran Symphonic Orchestra, Iran National Orchestra and Dastan Ensemble. His passionate and silky voice has soon opened his way into the hearts of many music enthusiasts.

In 2007 and 2008 he had two concerts with Rumi Ensemble in Oslo and Madrid where  attracted many audiences.
